Well been a busy week since the new addition. Been mostly getting birds in the wash over the week but did finish these guys out and took some pics this morning.

I've got a mallard in the freezer from the resent season and I want to mount it myself. I want to start mounting my own birds. I bought a kit but it doesnt come with a head. Would it make my life easier to buy a head for it or use the birds skull. This is my first bird I have ever tried mounting.

Each year go on a father-son hunt, last few years have been in Nebraska chasing grouse. Didn't get any sharptails the year prior but got some nice ones from the past trip :getdown: And got the mighty coot mounted up and added to the now finished gallinule base.

Been looking forward to doing these ducks since I got them. Having both males and females side by side for great comparatives. All four taken myself in WA. Have a similar deal in store with the greater and lesser scaup:getdown: Barrow's and Common Goldeneyes Common Goldeneye Close-up ...

Does anyone do their own taxidermy at home? I have a few friends who do that have given me some good tips, but i'm not sure if I want to go down that road and make the investment necessary. Thoughts???
